Dr. Grimard is the only Board Certified Periodontist and Implant Specialist in Pueblo, CO, and we have been in Southern Colorado since 2008. A Colorado Native, Dr. Brently Grimard was raised by his single mom, and was the first person in his family to complete college. As a teenager Dr. Grimard had interest in becoming a pharmacist, but his personal experience with his own orthodontics and encouragement from his family dentist led him down a path to dentistry instead.
Dr. Grimard finished his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Colorado State University, and went on to Dental School at the University of Colorado. There he was drawn to the surgical aspect of dentistry, and found his ability to remain calm and steady in high pressure situations to be a great fit for periodontology.
After finishing his DDS, Dr. Grimard worked for a few years as a general dentist, before being accepted into the top periodontology program in the country at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio.
Dr. Grimard completed a Certificate and Master's Degree in Periodontology, and has been recognized by the American Board of Periodontology for his demonstrated excellence in his field– the highest recognition of achievement awarded by the specialty. Diplomates like Dr. Grimard are required to update their skills and maintain their certification through continuing education and periodic testing, demonstrating their commitment to lifelong learning.
Dr. Grimard wanted to return and start a practice in his home state of Colorado, and has been leading the team at Periodontics & Dental Implants Brently A. Grimard DDS, MS since 2008. He has treated thousands of patients successfully, and his profound experience in unique and complex cases allows him to provide excellent specialized care.
Outside of the office Dr. Grimard enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Jerrico, and their son and daughter. An avid and active outdoorsman, you can find Dr. Grimard both road and mountain biking, camping, or even gardening.
Dr. Grimard is also an active member of the Southern Colorado Hygiene Study Club. In addition to running and sponsoring this study club for dental hygienists, he also occasionally lectures at their regular meetings.

When you arrive at our office a friendly member of our team will greet you and help get your intake and consent forms completed on our expedient office iPad.
Dr. Grimard will take a closer look at your teeth and gums to assess their current health and will be able to assess if you need additional treatment. In addition, the exam will include a head and neck cancer screening, and will assess the overall health of the head and neck anatomy.
Our team will look at the inflammation around your teeth, carefully measuring the space between each tooth and the gum tissue surrounding it. The periodontal exam will assess the overall health of the supporting hard and soft tissues around your teeth.
Some dental issues can’t be seen with the naked eye, so we use modern and safe digital x-rays to capture detailed images of your teeth, gums, and facial bones, keeping you informed and involved each step of the way. For planning implants and assessing oral pathologies, we will use both 2D and 3D x-rays for an even more comprehensive view of your oral health.
Once we’ve evaluated all of the information we collect during the exam, charting, and x-rays, Dr. Grimard will review his findings and create a treatment plan that is tailored to you. He will explain everything he saw during the evaluation and detail the consequences of not addressing your dental needs.
When we’ve finished your evaluation, we will discuss our findings and make treatment recommendations. This is a good time to ask any questions you may have about the evaluation, findings, or anything else regarding your oral health.
We will also go over insurance and financial considerations, and schedule your next visit. If you're using insurance, we will submit your claim as a courtesy. We also have financing available through CareCredit, so you can create payment plans that fit your needs, budget, and lifestyle.

During your sedation process and treatment we provide warm, calming blankets. For your convenience, we provide all of our post-op instructions on this website for your reference. Dr. Grimard and our team use high-tech 3D CBVT imaging to capture details about your jaw and teeth by rotating a cone-shaped x-ray beam around your head. This allows us to create a full view of your oral health in a single scan, so we can more precisely and accurately plan your dental implants.
Used in conjunction with the CBVT system, our advanced Trios intraoral scanner provides us with an intricate and fully comprehensive look at your mouth, and the ability to display a digital 3D model of your teeth almost immediately.
We utilize an advanced 3D printer to create custom implant guides and occlusal splints right in our office. This technology helps to maximize our productivity and precision, and ensures your procedure is right the first time.
We take an active part in ensuring that our community has the means to get the dental care they need, no matter their unique situation. That’s why we partner with Colorado Mission of Mercy, which provides no cost dental clinics, offering treatments like cleanings, fillings, root canals, and extractions to any person on a “no questions asked” basis. Since its inception in 2007, COMOM has served 17,000 patients in need and provided $15,000,000 in donated dental care.
We also participate in Donated Dental. Many adults cannot afford dental care, especially our community’s most vulnerable residents. Dental Lifeline Network provides comprehensive dental care to adults with special needs across the United States. We think everyone deserves a healthy smile, and each day we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of our neighbors — both inside and outside of our dental practice.
